Sabrina Falco-Langham

East London – Leyton E10 - Leytonstone E11

Welcome

If you are here, you are probably seeking a space in which you can explore your journey in life or specific events in the past, or maybe a recent event that has thrown you off balance. You might not feel OK in yourself or with people around you.

Am I the right person for you? The best way to find out is to email me and arrange a free 15 minute Zoom consultation to see if we can work together.

I am based between Leyton E10 and Leytonstone E11 closed to Stratford City E20 and offer counselling and psychotherapy. I work face to face as well as working online.

About me

I have been working holistically and therapeutically since 2006 with a background in bodywork. When Covid arrived, I was unable to practise, and I used the time to learn about myself. This is what led me to discover Transactional Analysis psychotherapy which is my main modality of work. I was so surprised about the difference it made to my own life that I decided to embark on a new learning journey.

I have been in clinical practice providing counselling and psychotherapy in Leyton E10 and Leytonstone E11 and I have worked for Mind as well as for a low-cost counselling service which I am still working for on a voluntary basis. These two placements have provided me with experience in both short- and long-term work. I am at advanced level of training at The Berne Institute and I offer counselling and psychotherapy.

I am a member of UKCP and UKATA and abide by their code of ethics. I am supervised in my work, fully insured and I.C.O. registered. Your information will be kept secure in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, 2018). I have a TQUK L2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (RQF).

Speak in confidence

If you are here, you are probably seeking a space in which you can explore your journey in life or specific events in the past, or maybe a recent event that has thrown you off balance. You might not feel OK in yourself or with people around you.

A problem shared...

Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.

Building awareness

During this work you might gain greater insights into the difficulties you are facing and gather a new understanding about why you behave the way you do.

What issues can counselling help with?

People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:

  • Feelings of stress or anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Relationship problems
  • Grief, loss or bereavement
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress
  • Depression
  • Low confidence or self-esteem
  • Issues relating to sexuality
  • Difficulties at work or in retirement
  • Problems with family or school life

Fees & sessions

My fee is £55 for a 50-minute session to be paid at least 48 hours before the session. I have two slots open for concessions at any given time, contact me for more details.

The sessions will be held once a week at an agreed time and day. I will not be able to extend the session if you are late.

I request a minimum of one week’s notice for cancellations. The slot you select is reserved especially for you. This means that I cannot be available to anyone else if you miss a session without enough notice. In those circumstances I will require you to pay the full fee for the missed session, there will be no exception to this.

Frequently asked questions

Fees and Holidays

The price and fees of our sessions will be reviewed regularly. I will give you at least one month’s notice for any increase.

I will give you as much notice as I can for any breaks that I intend to take. I ask you to give me as much notice as you can for any intended breaks. If I am away or unable to attend, you will not have to pay for the session.

Communication in between sessions

My telephone number and email address are for appointments bookings, changes and cancellations only. I will not engage into telephone or email therapy outside our slot except by exceptional circumstances and by agreeing to it in advance.

I won’t be able to check my phone regularly throughout the day or in non-working hours, therefore I won’t respond to messages on a regular basis or if I am off duty.

I will reply to messages as soon as possible, however if you need to talk to someone in between sessions, in an emergency or if you are feeling suicidal, please call the Samaritans: 116 123. Alternatively, you can request to speak to the ‘on duty’ psychiatrist or mental health nurse at your local A& E.

I will not accept social networking requests from clients, as this can compromise confidentiality and the nature of the therapeutic relationship.

We will not meet or have contact outside sessions. If I will see you outside in public spaces, I will not engage in any conversation with you or make it known to other people that I know you.

Our therapeutic relationship will remain professional only.

Confidentiality

The content that is discussed in sessions is confidential to both parties, the client and the therapist.

I have regular supervision with a qualified supervisor where I discuss my work in confidence. Supervision enables me to grow and learn as a practitioner and give you the best service I can.

Confidentiality can be broken on rare occasions, only if my supervisor and I believe you or somebody else is at risk. In the case of a disclosure concerning acts of terrorism under Terrorism Act confidentiality will be broken and information will be passed to the relevant authority. I am accountable to civil or court procedure if information of this kind is not disclosed.

Where possible, I will notify you if I need to break our confidentiality.

I will make brief notes after each session, these will be kept secure in accordance with the UKCP ethical framework and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. This are to help me to reflect on our work together. They are disclosed to no-one other than, if necessary, my supervisor, you cannot be identified by them.

Ending therapy

Usually, you will probably know when you are ready to end therapy. We will talk together and agree on how we will do this. If we have been working together for a while it is best to allow at least four sessions for an ending.

Sometimes you might find therapy difficult and feel the need to end abruptly. If this happens, I invite you to talk to me about these challenges first rather than suddenly end. This is an opportunity to resolve important issues that otherwise might not be addressed again.

I will not terminate our contract without notifying you beforehand, except in exceptional circumstances and this will be fully discussed at the time.

Get in touch
